Choose Joy

Read Habakkuk 1:1 through 3:19 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior (Habakkuk 3:18). When a verse begins with the word “yet,” readers realize there is more to come. It means the previous statement isn’t complete. Think of the times that word is used. “We may be losing, yet the game’s not over.” “Your grades could be better, yet the semester isn’t over.” In the use of “yet” in Habakkuk 3:18, readers are connected to the previous thought. Verse 17 speaks of fig trees not budding, vines holding no grapes, fields producing no foods, and no sheep or cattle in the pens. The sentence becomes complete after that three letter word “yet.” Even though. In spite of. Or, as some might say, “So what!” Though the circumstances looked bleak, Habakkuk could choose joy. He knew so much more awaited. Habakkuk took time to remember what God had done in the past. He then honestly declared the present situation. But he confessed more. He chose to depend on

Sweet Rewards

Celebrating and reminiscing post Man Camp (www.crossroads.net) "high" at one of my favorite places (Nation in Pendleton). Each time I garner more of what God's plan & purpose is through how he speaks into my heart through other Godly men. How sweet it is the story He is writing for you. We were made from dirt, but are of much ability & value - transformed into something strong, beautiful, and worthy. Live His pattern and not the world's de ceptive plans. You can deny convention and will defy odds. Spark revolutions, and join His crusade to conquer men's (and women's) hearts for Jesus. Disciple God's word through intentional action. Have willpower when you experience obstacles. Tell the enemy he has no place in your life or others. Be a warrior for your family and know God has great plans for you. Make bold declarations and abide in His will for sweet rewards. In faith,
