Read Exodus 29:1 through 31:18
When the LORD finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the Testimony, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God (Exodus31:18).
God talked with Moses, then God wrote His message down so that everyone could know His heart. God knows everyone learns differently. Some are visual learners and some are auditory. Others have to touch, move, and wiggle all around a concept to fully grasp the lesson. So God painted pictures of love and justice. He inspired poetry to stir emotions. Thanks to the printing press, we can hold the Word in our hands and learn new truths as God reveals them. The Word is living and active because God desires to communicate with mankind.
Throughout the book of Exodus, God spelled out His plan for the Israelite nation. The Commandments He inscribed on stone are still the ABC’s for modern living. The Word, whether chiseled into stone or printed on a page, most importantly needs to be inscribed on our hearts.
Challenge for Today: Let God write His Word on your heart.
