Impact the Darkness!

Why was Stephen singled out for questioning? Were the people jealous that Stephen had performed signs and wonders by the power of the Holy Spirit?

Opposition arose, however, from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called)—Jews of Cyrene and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia and Asia. These men began to argue with Stephen (Acts6:9).
We can expect resistance to our message of freedom in Christ just as Stephen did. Yet, as any athlete knows, resistance builds muscle. As we build spiritual muscle, we grow in boldness. And as we grow in boldness, we gain power to impact the darkness.
Just as Stephen’s face became radiant while he stood before his accusers, the power of God will shine through us when we stand up to those who oppose the gospel. Even those who refuse to believe will realize they’ve witnessed something extraordinary, something not of this world.
Challenge for Today: Refuse to be intimidated by the powers of darkness.
