When I heard this, I was deeply inspired. I hope this delivers the same for you. Whether you are at home, driving to your job, at work, in a cubicle, talking with friends, communicating with clients, interacting with others, drinking coffee, on the phone, traveling, or whatever the action, 'the trumpet sounds daily'. Will you answer it's blare, or will you sit and stare? Will you 'pick up your hoofs, move you legs, and snarl in the face of distracting obstacles', or will you curl over in defeat?
Excuse the extreme aggressive 'sports mentality', but hearing this in the opening of a movie about a horse that surpasses numerous boundaries, evoked thoughts of how we as humans, being the intelligent entities that we are (or can be), could learn a lot from this old horse. How can we be more respectfully aggressive in our lives towards the right pursuits? What ways do you implement a more purpose driven race/day? The bible verses, in sync with the sport of horsing comparison could not have been more fitting, and prodding. Gallop towards those goals my friend, do not await authority, or hesitation.
"Do you give the horse his strength or clothe his neck with a flowing mane?
Do you make him leap like a locust, striking terror with his proud snorting?
He paws fiercely, rejoicing in his strength, and charges into the fray.
He laughs at fear, afraid of nothing; he does not shy away from the sword.
The quiver rattles against his side, along with the flashing spear and lance.
In frenzied excitement he eats up the ground; he cannot stand still when the trumpet sounds."
Job 39:19-24 (NIV)

*Narrated in the opening of a spectacular movie, "Secretariat"
The metaphor between horse, man, and strength/courage can't help but inspire your heart to beat like a drum, your posture become bolstered, and your ear drums are plucked with the faint sound of a trumpet, than steadily united with your drumming heartbeat.
When I heard this, I wanted to stand against all odds with invigorated vitality, my feet moved from sifting in sand, to agile rock. It reminded me of the poetic spirit God has, and the amazing gift of choice, discipline, spirit, determination/perseverance, joy, glory, and action you can implement to serve His purpose.
Hope you enjoy.
